Psssst can I tell you something? YOU ARE AMAZING JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!! YES, I SAID IT...YOU REALLY ARE AMAZING!!
Too many times often, than not, we see our reflection AND IMMEDIATELY point out our physical flaws. Ask me how I know? I'm glad you asked, because I do the same thing. However, I have to remind myself and I want to either remind or inform you, YOU ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. From the crown of your head to the very soles of your feet, you were specifically created and designed.

Growing up I allowed others to point out physical things about me, like my wide nose. Hunni, honestly, that was their problem, it wasn't mine. My skinny legs (well, momma's legs have some meat on them now lol), again, their problem, not mine. We consciously and subconsciously try to live up to an image that we see in the world around us, whether it's on tv or social media, even in our friendships and families. Comparing ourselves to those images causes our self esteem to deteriorate especially when we measure ourselves against someone else's design. The only thing better than a carbon copy IS AN ORIGINAL and YOU'RE AN ORIGINAL!

There's so many awesome things about being an original. It means you get to do what pleases and makes you happy. Looking the way you want to look, acting the way you want to act (nothing but positive behaviour tho). The journey to accepting how awesome you are is finding you, learning you, loving you so you'll be able to share the best parts of you (J. Knight). My personal journey in life has been just that. Freedom is casting the thoughts, comments, implications, insinuations and projections of others to the side to FEED YOUR SOUL. It's literally like an evolution, perhaps even an epiphany.

ALL I KNOW IS ONE DAY I WOKE UP AND I FELT DIFFERENT!! I said "I'm going to live freely and EMBRACE EVERY PART OF ME. I will continue to be kind and uplifting. I'll be loving and caring and I'm going to do whatever feels good to my soul." THAT WAS THE DAY THAT I REALLY STARTED TO LIVE ACCEPTING THAT I WAS IMPERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL.
Now can we talk about this dress and this amazing Feeling Kind of Blue Cotton Twill fabric from my shop (pssssst *whispering* "go shop"). OOOOO someone better be glad I'm not a ballerina because all I wanted to do was twirl. I have to be honest...I am the queen of open the package and get right to work referring to the instructions later. My style is rather simple, therefore 99.99% of the time I leave the awesomeness to the fabric. I used McCall's L9402 pattern and it gave me all the twirl action I needed but not without a slight headache tho.

My completed work of art: At first glance, I gasped at the beauty, but it was short lived and succeeded with criticism. I had to flip the script really quick and began applauding myself for getting the job done and in a beautiful way. Moral of the story...stop picking your life and your body apart and accept the fact they are IMPERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL.
P.S. MY MASK, I DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT.

Linda...so glad to have you here and I thank you for your kind words. Hopefully the words written will inspire you and the beautiful fabric will excite you.
Awww Portia you’re always so encouraging and uplifting. Thank you so much!!
I just found your site from Crystal Sews and Stuff! I love this dress and you wear it very well. The fabric is gorgeous.
Beautifully and wonderfully made. God is AWESOME! Continued Blessings. I'm so so glad you listened to your heart because if you hadn't we wouldn't see you AWESOME work.
